where to find a better clutch cable?

My headers run too close to the trans. so my clutch cable gets hot and melts after a while, I bought header wrap and also wrapped the clutch cable with a wrap designed for spark plug wires, but after a while it still gets too hot and melts. I dont have enough money for new headers right now but this is getting out of hand.
I am just hoping someone makes a cable that can withstand being 1/2 inch from the headers....

302 bored 40 over, 10:1 flat top forged pistons, gt40p heads, b303 cam, gt40 tubular intake, 65mm tb, 70mm mass air, 19lb injectors, billit distro, a9p computer, nx express 200hp shot wet kit, Tremec trans, steeda clutch adjusters
full Saleen Suspension kit, superior ev axles, 3.73 gears, 11" disc brakes all around, 4pt roll bar.
Total clone paraphenilia, 17" saleen rims....including paint.

But, what I really need is to find a steel braided cable, due to how darn close the headers run to the trans. There isnt a speed shop near me for american cars to go to.
