I'm converting a 5.0L roller cam block to carb to put in the 67. I'm going with a mechanical fuel pump but the current dowel pin is too short since it used an electrical fuel pump. I can't get the pin out of the 289 without damaging it so I'm going to need a new one. From what I've found, the engines with electrical fuel pumps used a 1.125" pin? and the ones without used a 1.325" pin? Where can I buy these individually?

Also, what is the best way to press fit them in without using an actual press?

Thanks :D

Just got off the phone with Comp cams and the guy I dealt with said he would send them (2, short and long) to me free of charge! It didn't matter to him that I had never bought anything from Comp cams either. I know it wouldn't have cost more than $2-3, but still it's cool to see business conducted in that way. I'm going with comp cams when I decide its time for something other than a stock cam. :D

Tips for getting it in? Is the clearance large enough for me to tap it in with a hammer?

get a later model 2 piece fuel pump eccentric. That will solve the problem without trying to get the pin out an messing with something. That is what I did when I converted to a late model 5.0/carburetor a long time ago.
