where to find IAC valve

ok for a few months now my car's idle will go up and down randomly. my dad told me to check my IAC valve. but im not to familiar with the motor much because i havent had to do any work to it yet. some one plz give me a hand and a pic would be nice. thx

thx i thought i had the right one but wanted to make sure. im cleaning it out with carb cleaner to see if it works. do you think that could be the culprit to my jumping idle?

I have had jumpin' idle caused by A/C compressor cycling due to low charge. If yours cycles with A/C off you can discard that and focus on IAC. On the other hand, have you tried to let the computer to relearn the idle settings after the last time you had your battery disconnected? The procedure is explained on the Owners Manual... with the engine cold, disconnect the battery for a while, then reconnect and start the engine without turning on any accesory. Wait until temp goes up to normal and wait an extra minute. Then turn the A/C on for a minute and the take the caar for a normal driving around (stop and go, city style no hiway) for 10 miles...

If your IAC is bad, carb cleaner is only a temporary fix. You'll need to get a new one
