Where to get a driveshaft for a 66

Pulled my trans yesterday to get rebuilt and then decided to remove the U joints from the drive shaft and replace them.

Found significant damage on rear yoke due to most likely a previous U joint replacement.

I will take it to the drive shaft rebuilder but in the meantime I wanted to know where I can get a replacement. Only CJ Pony sells them as far as I have found.

I will post an image of the problem shortly.

Measure it from the center of the front joint (middle of the hole the cups sit in) to the center of the rear joint. If it's close to 45.5" then a shaft from a 79-2004 Stang will fit.

Any Mustang dealer with used parts should be able to supply a decent replacement, and of course a driveshaft shop should be able to make a new one quite easily.

Oh yeah. Get a good driveshaft shop to put a new end on it. If it's out of true, just have them make a new one.

I have the aluminum DS from Street or Track.
Made by Coleman and is a quality unit.
The local DS shop wanted 150 to cut, balance and rebuild the steel one when we did the T5 change out. Decided to go aluminum instead.

I have a local shop looking to replace the damage section.

Should be about $125.00 with both U joints replaced included.
