Where To get Fitting - Fuel Pressure Guage to Fuel Line

Alright, well I broke my fuel pressure guage fitting off in the fuel line, luckily found a used line and I can't mess this one up. The problem is that I can't find a fitting to connect the 1/8" fuel pressure guage to the fuel line, whch i've been told is either 8 mm or 6 mm. I've been to Autozone, O'Reilly's, Bumper to Bumper, Lowes, and a couple fitting specialty stores, none have the fitting I need. One guy told me to go to a machine shop and they could maybe rethread the part of the fitting I have left...I did and they said it would be about $40...that's crazy! I've searched online and looked through summit, but i'm not sure exactly what I need. I see some fittings that connect -6 AN to 1/8" NPT, but what is AN and NPT? Is that what I need? I doubt BBK would send me a new fitting, but I guess I could call and ask...wish they had a toll-free number. Any other ideas?

Summit and Jegs carries them...its a ford fuel rail adapter. Its a 1/16. Pricey little bastards tho.

how does a normal fitting fit on the shrader valve? Or do you remove the thing in the middle you need to press to release pressure (like a valve on a wheel)?

You just unscrew the schaeder valve (like a tire valve core) and thread in the adapter... As you already know, be careful tightening it... be there, done it myself!

So you take out the valve core?

You got it... just use a valve core remover. I ended up having to use an easy-out to get out the stub of my broken fuel fitting out and then put the core back in until I got the new fitting. Those fittings are usually brass and very easy to snap.

remove the shraeder valve first, i believe the wrench is a 7mm or 9mm, i think 7mm. Its been soooo long ago. i know-I bought the wrench at a speedshop for the removal. Its comes right out-and then insert the NOS adaptor and bammmmmm-connect the gauge...

you know when you see a badass motor with all the metal mesh tubing and lines...those blue and red connector ends are AN fittings...but they come in about 10 colors, and color pertains to size...and its good to get those color coded wrenches so you wont scratch them all to hell...

AN means "Army Navy"
Tubing size is indicated in 1/16th's of an inch
Example:
1AN = 1/16"
4AN = 4/16" = 1/4"
6AN = 6/16" = 3/8"

Two common pipe thread sizes exist, the tapered National Pipe Thread (NPT) and the straight National Standard Free-Fitting Straight Mechanical Pipe Thread (NPSM). The tapered threads are for joining and sealing, the straight threads are only for joining.

thanks for all of the help guys...i've looked at summit and i'm not seeing a NOS fitting w/ that part number, nor one in the mag, but I see all kinds of the AN things, which now I know what that means...anyone know what size for sure the fuel line is where the schrader screws in because that's where the fitting will screw in. I've been by places they think it's a 6mm or 8mm. I can find out by trying bolts I guess, but if someone knows...

I know I removed my schrader valve and I think it just came out, no tools necessary, but I can't actually remember now that I think about it.

I guess i was searching for the wrong thing, thanks man. I searched for "fuel rail adapter" and "fuel line adapter" and stuff like that. called summit to double check and that is what I need, so thanks a lot.
