where can i get a GOOD speedometer cable? preferably an OEM ford one, but if not, a decent aftermarket one would be good. i just put a brand new Pioneer cable on from Oreilly's and it broke in literally 5 mins of driving. i'm sick of dealing with cheap aftermarket crap.

thanks!

I got a ford cable from Late model resto, it is a standard length cable so it is about 6 inches longer but I have had no problems with it in two years.

I did a quick search and all I can find is direct replacements such as Dorman, maybe you could try a Ford dealership?

Try PPI. They have a lot of OEM parts.

Late model is an aftermarket cable. Mine leaked at the crimp right at the trans. I fixed it by putting RTV and heat shrink over the leak area. No probs since.

I'm a big fan of Latemodel Resto, but the cable I bought from them leaked gear oil out the top and onto my wife's foot. One of them did the same thing to a friend of mine at the same time. Go to your local dealership and ask them to locate one for you. They're discontinued, but there is still stock in the dealerships. Another friend just got one last week.
