Should I put em:

1. directly bolted to the headers
2. on the x-pipe but before the x
3. on the x-pipe and after the x

Basically which one would result in best performance.

Thanks

Wouldn't it make more sense to weld them in after the x so they get "all 8 cylinders" on each side?

i guess it really doesnt matter which side you put them on. check out this:

http://www.superstang.com/powered_exhaust.htm

i saw some photos where they are right after the headers and some after the X itself. i always figured everyone runs them right before the X but i dont think it matters

before the x close to the headers, that way its like open headers and you gain more hp benefits.

Yeah if I hit lotto I'd buy them.

Well thanks for the advice and photos, I think I'll bolt them directly to the headers, that way I'll avoid welding also.

I think the proper way to install them is to mark down the pipes with some type fo a wax crayon. Then run the car and were the wax is melted off the most is the best spot. At least, that's the way I recall it being done back in the day.

Regardless, I don't think you will gain anything, and probably just lose all of the bottom end you have now.

open headers sound like ass I think...I'd put the cut-outs right before the mufflers. Closed cut-out = normal stang exhaust, open cutout= no mufflers and probably plenty loud and you'd still have some backpressure because of the mid-pipe
