Where to search for codes at?????

This is regarding my 2000 focus (I know this is 5.0tech, sorry). I can't find where to hook a code scanner to? I thought it would be around the fusebox under the dash and its not there. 3 guys at Autozone looked and couldn't find it either? I registered to a focus forums but it won't let me post....so I have to ask here. Thanks guys.

some fords are dumb and put the service port under the hood by the fire wall on the drivers side...thats how it is on my 91 Gt, but i don't know about your focus...see if its under there

I think you were in the right location under the dash between the driver's side door and the steering column. Look for an unmarked removable panel/flip cover in that area.
