I just put a new rear seal on the end where the driveshaft goes. IT slowed it down but did not fix it. IT is leaking all over the cross member and down the driveshaft to the axel. I need help fast if I want to race my car this week.

sometimes there is a little blow off valve on top of the trans...that could be it. Best thing to do is to wipe it completely down and then follow the trail. There is nothing on the pan? What about the oring for your dipstick?

If the yoke on the driveshaft is worn and there is a groove then a new seal does not do much but make a smaller leak.

I had similiar problem - ended up replacing seal around the shifter linkage where it goes inside tranny. I have also seen the cooling line fittings leak where they connect to the xmission.

Another thing to check is the speedometer cable. Pull it out and check the o-ring seal. Also check cable itself to make sure there are no cuts or breaks in it near where it goes into transmission.

I once had a 69 that only leaked when the tranny-engine was under a back pressure type situation, for example when going down hill under a coast. I dropped 2.5 quarts when going down Pikes Peak. The thing looked like it was on fire as the fluid went all over the exhaust pipe. A new rear seal fixed it. If it is still coming from there, was the seal installed correctly?

If the frt. pump is leaking the fluid could be blowing back everywhere; check for fluid in the bellhousing. Also the pan and other places listed.
