okay I haver read and searched and basically am still confused. I don't really want to run a locker or a spool as the car will be mainly street driven.

I will be getting a 9psi KB kit and run 3.73 gears. I have the FRPP gears, intall kit, t/a cover, I going to run moser or FRPP axles.

the choices I have read about are

eaton
31 spline trac lok
truetrac
t2 torsen
auburn

I don't really want the auburn as it is not rebuildable. I know about the issues on the two pinion vs 3 pinion truetrac.

my problem is they all have lovers and haters. you search the threads and you find pics of blow up diff, bashing, etc.

price wise I think it goes like

1. torsen ~$480
2. eaton ~$400
3. truetrac ~$400
4. 31 spline trac lok ~$200
5. 31 spline trac lok cobra version ~$300

I would prefer to be as noise free and strong as possible. Aslo what is the are there any difference between the m-4204-318 and m-4204-318c strenght wise?

also if you feel the need to bash one of the options please post why. I am begining to think the reality is they are proalby all viable solutions and someone out ther has broken all of them.

I have a 31 spline track lock out of a F-150 that was rebuilt with extra clutch packs. I've had mine for amost 5 years in my car and have had no problems. I may rebuild it this summer since it's only about $50 to do and it's been a few years.

I ended up getting the trac lok. Somebody finally put it in perspective for me. the truetrac and eaton are twice as much as the trac lok. So if you break one you will be crying. The trac lok is cheap, fairly durable, easily rebuildible.

$194 from sumitt. I pondered on getting a used on and rebuilding it but everthing eslseis brand new so I just said screw it and got a new on.

So as it stands I got

FRPP 3.73's
FRPP install kit
T/A rear cover
moser 31 spline axles (FRPP were out of stock)
M-4204-318 rear diff.

hopefully get it done next weekend.

they also offer a m4204-318C diff that you can get that has carbon fiber clutches. you can't buy the clutches buy them selves though.

Now I just need to sell my IROC and get my 9psi KB kit.
