i would get the cobra, make sure to get some quotes on both cars from your insurance company, thats what it will probably come down to..

I would go for the newer GT myself. I just like GT's better . I sure would'nt mind a Cobra if the right one came along, but am partial to GT's.

Also you should be able to find an 01GT with less mile for that amount of cash. To much money for those amount of mile's. I think the same goes for the Cobra to much for those mile's.

For approx 1k in price difference, I'd get the Cobra. But i agree both are over priced. For those miles, i'd knock about 1500 to 2k off the price

For me it was between a 99 cobra with 20K on the odometer and a new 03 GT. They wanted 19K for the Cobra. There were problems on the 99 Cobra...lack of advertised horsepower, but most if not all should have been fixed by the factory. With financing, the 03 GT was actually cheaper...lower rate and lower insurance. Once I get the Kenne Bell on, I'll be up there with the 03 Cobras. My vote is with the GT.

If you can afford the insurance get the Cobra (note when I bought my GT, I checked insurance and it was about $1,000 per year higher for a Cobra), I am 34 with a clean driving record and pay just under $2,000 per year for full coverage on my GT. Also make sure all recall work has been done on the Cobra, mainly that the intake was replaced, there was a problem with flashing from casting inside the intakes.

I completely agree :nice:

I really hope that you are going to put the car under you're parents name or some other adult. Just for kicks, I researched what insurance would be on my car if it were in my name......$2500 every 6 months! Thats $430 a month on insurance!!

I would go w/ the GT. I just test drove a '99 Cobra where the dealer wanted 18,900 (overpriced) & the car had been in a collision. My car pulls harder accross the entire RPM range. IMO the '01 GT is a better deal because w/ a few mods you can make it run better than the '99 Cobra.

im not sure what cobras these guys are drivin, but they must drive some freak GTs cause there is no way i would think about gettin a gt over a cobra. even for less cost, and less miles, the price isnt that much more, and the miles are about average. just alittle overpriced on both, but u need to work them down alittle. and yeah, put the insur. in ur parents name.
