Which carb spacer and why?

I have a 289 with an edelbrock carb, performer intake, performer cam. The 289 heads and intake have been ported. I was wondering which type and size carb spacer I should get. Should I get an open, 2 hole, 4 hole, 1", 2", 1/2". What do you guys recommend? I know the intake is more for lower rpms so should I try to get an open spacer for more top end or will my cam run out. Any help will be greatly appreciated

How about a NOS spacer

I think pretty much everybody uses an open one. I'm not sure why because I thought the 4 holes ones where supposted to be for torque and the open ones for hp. The spacer gets your carb away from the hot intake, allows for better fuel atomizing before entering the runners. I would say a 1" open would be good but I'm not 100%. Mine is a 1/2" open plastic version with a cross bar

With the plain performer cam you are built for low end torque and driveability already. I don;t think either will make a big difference at the top end of the RPM chart. Just buy the biggest one that will allow your hood to close

i have a 3" cowl hood so get a two inch?
open or closed?

Edelbrock sells a divided spacer for the performer manifold which is a dual plane. I have a 1" on mine.
