Which CC Plates?

Hey guys... my car is lowered over 1.5" and the front tires are leaning in, and when I went to get an alignment they told me that caster/camber is not adjustable. So naturally the only remedy would be to get CC plates. Just wondering what you would recommend to me? I know a lot of people are running maximum motorsports' plates, but do I need to get that fancy if all I want is to just straighten my tires? Also, if you think those are the only way to go, then do you need to use the 4th hole because I know that requires drilling? Thanks in advance!

If you're going to buy a 4 bolt caster camber plate, might as well do the drilling and make use of the 4th hole while you're in there........ok, that sentence sounds kinda perverted, but we'll pretend it doesn't.

Seriously though, Maximum Motorsports is a really good brand, but I hear good things about UPR, QA1, and Steeda Caster camber plates as well. I think pro3i makes a set, but not sure. There are other companies as well, so you might want to do some browsing.

I have a friend who installs them. He's had to send two UPR shark ones back to UPR.

I'm happy with my 4-bolt Aluminum Steeda's. They have been installed for 2 years now and no problems.

Well, I just ordered a full tubular K kit with coilovers...so I have been in the market for some nice CC plates since all the loadwill be on the strut towers and CC plates. I looked over 2 main companys... MM 4 bolt CC plates and the steeda 4 bolt CC plates.

AND IMHO THE STEEDAS ARE BETTER. After looking over things such as weight (steedas 7075 aluminum is MUCH lighter then MMs thin steel and about the same strength) and ease of adjustability....the steedas seem much better and more advanced.(and they look MUCH better to boot)
And MMs reason for not using aluminum was so they could use a thinner cut of metal (steel) and RETAIN the strength for less bump travel(not a good reason IMO). SO apparently they are the same strength and since the steedas also fits under the hood and their height can be adjusted W/O using shims...the choice was clear.
The steedas are more expencive though...but you get what you pay for I always say. (I looked for HOURS and got them for $229 shipped...normally go $249...and that wasnt on Ebay either)

But since your not getting coilovers, you can get steedas aluminum 3 bolt CC plates for $180ish...they will work fine. No need for the expencive 4 bolt stuff, the above was just incase you WANTED only 4 bolt.

so what exactly is that 4th hole for anyway? In case you're using a coil-over setup?

I had steedas and now I have Max Morotspororts c/c plates and I love them. That should tell you what I think about the steeda c/c plates. Like Tomustang said " do it right the first time".
edit: I had the three bolt steedas, which everyone with experience knows are junk, Unlike the 4 bolt variant.

I have the 4 bolt Steeda - like em - adding the 4th bolt isn't that bad.
You don't realy need a 4 bolt plate unless you run a lot of + caster.
I'm running 285/40/17 on the front so I needed as much +caster as i could get. I pushed them as far back as they would go, then matched them up.

I have the Steeda 4 bolts too.......Glad I got them when I put the PRO KIT on...Happy with all of it!

steel>aluminum. strength. the only thing steeda's got over MM is the weight.

the forth bolt is for more structure everywhere on the tower

Well thats true...but when the aluminum is about twice as thick as the steel...its hard to say which is stronger. And since im going for light weight the steeda really had me sold once I found out the MMs where steel. I really wouldnt pay $50 more for the steeda if I didnt think it was worth it...especially since everyone says MMs are the best. But since neither will break or bend under the load, I went with the one that looks better and weighs ALOT less.

that doesnt help? haha. Well, it just seems that Steeda's stuff is way over priced. And how much is the weight difference? I doubt it would ever be noticeable
