Which electric fan??

Ive got a 90 gt its has a vortech a trim with the ten rib pulley. Right now I have the black magic fan in it and its to thick. Any one have any ideas on what to use?
My freind has almost the same set up and hes using a fan from a 98 cobra but i have no idea where I would find one

electric fan off a Lincoln Mark VIII fit nicely for me.
just had to trim a little off the front edge of the shroud.

They flow like a mo-fo too.

Just gotta go around to all the local junkyards one Saturday
They're usually all on the same side of town generally.

Lincoln Mark VIII
Tarus ( mid 90's )
05-06 Mustang ( V6 or V8 )

all make good fans and fit in every application I've seen
with a little trimming

I picked mine up for $50 with 30 warranty at junkyard.

Don't waste your time and money on a Black magic fan. I recently took mine off and through it away. My car got hot too many times. I put a fan off a Taurus on it and I have never been happier. It flows so much ait it will suck small children through the front of my car. Just my .02

I agree. If on a budget, I'd get an OEM fan (Taurus, MN, etc) and use it. If really wanting aftermarket, a couple of Spals might work. I'm not real big on the cheaper aftermarket fans (of which, Spal is not).

I second the Dual Spal. It should give you the clearance you need but check before buying.

I use the Mark VIII/Taurus fan and it is awesome even with the stock two core.

I also have not seen a 94-95 Stang fan bolt right in. It seemed to me that it took a bit of modification (as is the case with all of Kevin's mods, they're done so well that they looked effortless, even if they aren't).

Can you get a measurement as to how much space you have? The Taurus fan rocks IMO. If It weren't so cold outside, I'd run out there and measure it for you. I can tomorrow if it would help.

Revisit Sicarius's post above. It's hard to beat dual Spals for packaging.

I think we kinda misunderstood eachother. I know it's an easy install but my point was that I don't think the fan actually bolts right onto a fox radiator (as a fox fan shroud bolts right onto the radiator). So it's not a true plug-and-play. I could be wrong though. In any case

Hissin dont get me wrong, you "are" the man! Its just I dont recall him telling me about any modifications at all! cept for wiring. I could be mistaken, he can do most anything to a 5.0 such as yourself. I think he's on the road working thats why he's not around. Owell.

From what I can tell with my 94/95 fan, it looks like it just drops in (it was installed by my mechanic with some other work done). Fits well.

Here I am.

Sorry for the delay.

The 94-95 fan is not a "Direct" bolt in but it is a very easy mod.(ie. Peice of cake!) I would say it is even easier than a 130 amp alternator mod which goes right along with the electric fan.
With that being said the mods to fit a 94-95 fan into a Fox are as follows:

After I removed the stock clutch fan and shroud I mocked up the SN-95 fan on the radiator.

A lot of radiators have a support bar running down the center of the radiator as well as the factory radiator. I had to trim a small notch out of the top of the SN-95 shroud for it to sit flush with the radiator. It is a very easy mod to trim this because the SN-95 shroud is thin plastic. Some aluminum radiators do not have this so it soes not have to be done.

The next thing I did was to drill 2 holes in the top of the shroud that lined up with the existing factory shroud holes so I could bolt the new SN-95 fan/shroud to it. Again this is very easy to do.

The last thing I did was to secure the bottom of the shroud to the radiator. I did this by drilling a small hole in the bottom of the shroud and using a nylon zip strap that is normally used for securing oil coolers to radiators. I found it in the "Help" section at a local auto parts store.

Then it was just running the wires to it through some wire loom and zip tying it up.
