I've had all kinds of trouble sorting out an intake t/b solution for my fox. I live down here in Australia, so there are bugger all foxbody mustangs down here. Add to the problem, it's right hand drive, so no room on the right side.

I'm looking at getting a new intake for my 88gt. First off, it needs to face the other way, or out the front. Just not aiming at the brake booster etc. What is the BBK SSI 5008 intake like? Anyone got one? And can it be turned around?

Or what is the new Edelbrock one like?

Any help appreciated.

Cheers,
Dan

I wasn't aware there were any RHD Fox Mustangs built? Got any pics??

Those are also two short runner intakes you posted. Great for top end HP, but not so good at low end torque. What's your overall combo look like? If you have stock heads, you might want to look at a different manifold

maybe get the 5.0 truck intake w/ rectangular ports, then build yourself a box upper, just a suggestion

I think you can install Trickflow intakes facing the other way. And to connect the throttle cable to an aftermarket throttle body you install it upside down. (So the cable connects in top instead of underneath) Theres someone on here with a 351 based motor that did that. I may do that this spring with my trickflow just to be different.

Looks like I should stay away from the bbk intake..., thanks Strike.

The truck idea sounds good! I can get my hands on a 1990 F150 manifold. Is that the kind your referencing Tanus?

Mike, they didn't make any RHD fox's. Mine was converted in 1990 down here in Adelaide, South Australia. My combo seems to change all the bloody time, but as it stands it's edelbrock performer rpm heads, headers (custom), stock bottom end, hotter cam (can't remember profile), bigger injectors, 75mm t/b, big mass air meter, cold air, 3.7's and half a 5 stud conversion.

Here's a link to some pics:

Chris, that seems like a good idea too, what trickflow manifold was that one?

Thanks again everyone,
Dan

Well im using the staggered port box intake. Thats the one he was using too. I'm sure a quick call to trick flow could.

Heres a link scroll down "1991Vert" has it set up. But like i said, i'm not sure if all trickflow intakes can do this. I just know the "Trick Flow R" series can.

Now if you want something to just look OEM you could always use the 5.0 upper from a Lincoln Towncar. Heres a Pic

If going OEM, you could always get an Explorer intake (or GT40 upper) and flip the plenum and run a Lighting EGR spacer. The Lightning spacer may be the same as the town car, but it's 65mm IIRC. With a ported lower, they should easily be able to handle the flow of the heads you have

There could also be 5.0 falcon parts you could use?

yeah, they're easy to spot cause they have monster ports on them, way bigger than the stock mustang lower and even the gt40.
