Which MAC Cold Air Induction is Better?

MAC seems to have 2 cold air induction kits that would work for my 92. One is the standard mount and the other is the fender well mount. Both are around the same price.....just wondering which one is better, if any. Thanks

Fenderwell - pulls cooler air from outside and removes filter from the hot engine bay. Cooler air = more condense, more compression, etc etc etc

But if you really want to know the best option...buy one from eBay for less than $40 shipped. Pretty much all of these products use the same filter, same type of tubing. A lot of the time you are paying for the brand name.

The filter REALLY doesn't do much in terms of power anyway, so why waste tons of money on a name.

I got mine off of eBay, no issues to date.

i got the mac fenderwell setup on mine to replace the conical filter the previous owner put on the end of the stock airhose.it seems just fine.the only complaint i have is yesterday when i put my 75mm pro-m on it took alot of doing to get it on.it definetly fits better with a stock maf.

The stock factory box is cold air - remove the silencer and put a flat panel low restriction filter in for the same effect. See the link below for more info - cosmetics is the only reason to dump the factory box. Whether the filter goes in the fenderwell or the filter and maf (I suspect those are the 2 different kits you're looking at) won't make a lot of difference -- pick the approach that makes the most cosmetic sense to you. Cosmetics is the only reason to eliminate the factory box anyhow. Whatever you do, don't hang a filter under the hood where it's picking up hotter air - you lose 1% HP for every 10F degree increase in intake air temp.
