Which mufflers for exhaust?

I have flowmaster 40's with a mac o/r h pipe and it's ballsy at start up pretty quiet at idle but man once i hit the throttle it opens up and heads start turnin...best sound i've ever heard...they're not too too loud when regular driving so if you want an incredibly throaty sound but a nice ride on the highway or on a sunday morning, i'd go with the 2 chambers. I get a lot of great feedback from these.. sometimes i get a great backpressure sound when downshifting too..nothing beats the sound of flowmaster

not sure how they sound on a mod motor but i love my spintech pro streets on my 95. different but still sounds like a mustang. very loud when you lay into the throttle and almost cammed sounding when idling. my exhaust consists of mac shorties, no cats , x pipe and spintechs with tails.

anyone have these on their 4.6?

ill vouch for spintechs as well.

i have a set of 333scs spintechs in side exhaust configuration(for the roush kit), so basically the inlet and outlet of the muffler are on the same side.

i ****ing love it. i cant stand that 4.6 drone every other mustang has from the run of the mill flo's and what not. i like a deep throaty growl of a big block when youre at half throttle, and that roar of a badass v8 at 6k. i got both. the closest way i can explain it is to watch "Gone in 60 Seconds". if you like the way eleanor sounds, youll love your spintechs.

though it might be a little different for a rear-exit setup. i hear because of the way side exits are setup, they sound badass but flow equally or less than stock. if i lost a few ponies for this sound, then its well worth it. ill never get any other muffler.

MagnaPacks sound great and they're not too loud.
The Magnaflow Magnapack catback is really good quality and is
stainless steel also. With the stock h pipe and Magnapacks it's not
too loud but, with a off road or catted h pipe the Magnapacks are
alot louder.I think they sound awesome though! :nice:

I had 2 chamber flows with a Bassani catted x pipe & frpp shortys on my 96 GT and it sounded badass from outside the car, but honestly I couldnt stand the drone on the highway. It gave me a frickin headache. For my 97 cobra I was looking for something beefy, but with no drone. I got regular magnaflows welded in yesterday and they sound pretty good. A nice deep tone but kinda even quieter than I expected. I guess its because cobra exhaust already sounds decent from the factory. When I get my bassani catted x pipe it should wake it up a little. Honestly though, I wanted a Bassani catback, but there stuff is too pricey, especially because I only want stainless stuff. Im happy for now with the magnaflows.

Yes Flows sound good and I had them but almost every mustang on gods green earth has them. If i was you i would go with something differnet like SLP, Borla, Dynomax, Magnaflow, or somebody. I love the sound of flows on a stang but not every stang i see.

Alright i'm about to order my Flow's and i need some clarification on specs.

2-1/4'' and Offset In / Offset Out right?

Get the 2 1/2" offset/offset....any competant shop can weld them with no problems. Then if you ever want to upgrade everything to 2 1/2" you'll be all set. You might wanna get the newer Super 40's ....slightly deeper sound and a little better flow:nice: BTW...the times in my sig were ran with 2 1/2" Flowmasters and stock tailpipes:)
