I'm just curious what oil pan everyone is using? I wasn;t really thinking anything of it as was going to order a moroso pan then I was reading the product description and it said it wasn't clearenced for a stroker rotating assembly. So I was just curious what pans everyone else was using and if there were any issues with clearance. Thanks

if you are not using a high volume oil pump just use the stock pan with a stock pump

Make sure to write on it "Not stock oil pan" so that when the next owner is trying to figure out whether he has forged pistons or not, he'll know not to go by the oil pan color.

Rick is right, use the Canton 15-620S ( I have one). It is deeper for the strokers (331-347) in the center. Clearance is not an issue. Just make sure you add two more quarts oil, it's a 7-qt pan. As a suggestion, I would use a rubber gasket like Felpro, SCE (what I use) they are one piece and satisfy the rubber area under the timing chain cover which is usually the spot where the oil pan leaks. I will tell you this, get a high volume oil pump. I did about three months of research and have found that 347's have oiling problems at the piston due to the 3.4" stroke (that's why I went 331). If you are just going to use it for racing or drive every once in a while it's okay, but if you are using it as daily driver, you might want to find another ride. I talked to Ford Racing, senn some articles in 5.0 and Muscle Mustangs, Popular Hot Rodding, internet articles, etc., and they all basically said the same thing. Get some forged pistons with good oiling characteristics, like Probe, JE Sportsman, Keith Black, and Ross Racing, just to name a few. Don't want you to blow up your motor. If you have a few grand in yours the things i mentioned should keep the torque monster running for a long time.

Thanks a lot guys. Some really good info there 93! I will definitely look into getting that pan. Who sells that particular pan, i didn't happen to find it in Summit. I was planning on running a high volume pump...which pump would you recomend?

Here's a link: http://www.brothersperformance.com/catalog/product_info.php/products_id/2378 It can also be found on ebay- I found a company that had a good deal. For oil pumps, I went with the Melling M68HV( that's the part number). You can find it anywhere-Autozone, Advanced Auto Parts, Summit, Jeg's, ebay, CNC Motorsports and so on. Normal price ranges from 25 to 35 dollars. Just make sure you purchase a hardened pump driveshaft if one does not come with your pump (some places include the driveshaft). ARP has the best shaft available (Summit has it for about 20 bucks). Hope this helps.

Thanks again. Quick question though. I was looking at the Moroso pan because I liked the fact that it was kicked out instead of deep for gound clearance. I was just wondering how much lower the canton pan is than the stock pan and if there is much of a chance of hitting something with it. Mind you, this car is by no means a daily driver, just a car that will go out on weekends and nice days to cruise around with. I just don't want to pound a $200 oil pan into submission everytime I go out! lol.

I think Canton has a 302 kicked out pan too. Maybe they call it a road race pan?

The deep Canton hangs above the K-member, the T-style pans are a PIA with a long tube header, you cant get to the starter or any of the pan bolts with out pulling the header.

I had one on my old 302 combo, now I only use and recommend the deep sumps to all my customers.

Here's a pic of the T-Style Canton

I have no problems driving with my pan. It has plenty of ground clearance.

i am also running the canton 15-620S with their girdle and windage tray. i got my oil pump from these guys http://www.precisionoilpumps.com/
i have the race version and also use his billet pump shaft. had around 75#'s at cold idle and while driving, and i think(been like 5 months since i drove it) around 35-40#'s warm. i'm sure i could have gotten away with his stock one though.
