I'm pretty sure im gonna go with some new pullies for my 87 GT. What do you guys think i should do, go with an electric fan or higher amp alternator? Which ever one you say, what brand should i get? thanks,
with pullies, you will need the higher amp alt to run an electric fan.
For example, i run a 1995 Mustang 130amp alt and a '95 Mustang electric fan. I also run March underdrive pullies but in order to spinthe alt pulley fast enough to get enough charge to run the fan at idle i needed an ASP 1 7/8 overdrive pulley. That gave me enough to have 13+volts at idle with the fan running
well it depends on you really! if you dont want to make alot of power then a black magic fan will get you a few HP(only good to 225hp). BUT!!!! if you ever want something like a system in your car with the U/D pullies and elec fan and system you are gonna be pushing it.It is a tough choice on this one. personally i am going with a 120 or 160 amp powermaster and mark VIII fan for my custom 347 set-up.
