hi I bought a set of MSD heli-core wires and I felt my mustang kind of weak I ckecked everything and everything was ok but i kept feeling my mustang weak i put back the old wires and now it feel normal but I would like to change the old wires but now I dont know which wires are the best, I want some wires so I can feel a little more power, any body have any ideas. thank you

For every Mustang I have had, I either put on Motorsport wires or they were already on.

maybe you were expecting to much outta them....wires only transmit......get a fatter coil......!

Taylor makes a good plug wire. I have used several sets on daily drivers to race cars. They are very good quality.

I second the vote for Taylor's. I've got their Spiro Pro's on mine and haven't had a problem yet. A good looking installation can be achieved if you get their Universal kit (available in different colors.) With that kit, you can cut the wires to fit on the distributor cap end and install the boots and terminals. Also, combine them with MADE FOR YOU's spark plug wire looms and you'll get an even better looking installation. Here's two pic's of mine.

taylors look like a good set of wires and will probably be my next ones, I am running FMS 9mm wires right now and they work great.


Also, are you sure when you put ur msd wires on that they all seated right on the plug, maybe you were not firing on all cylinders?

Auto Zone double silocone, they work great. I will upgrade when I get the MSD ignition, till then just don't need anymore.

Ford Racing wires suck. I used to be a fan boy about them, but after two sets that died early and arced like crazy, i switched to Taylors and am never goin back. Never knew my motor could rev so smooth. I also heard AFM has a set of plug wires that are good. Both Taylors and AFM wires are 40 something a set.

I am on my second set of MSD, just because they got dirty and i didnt feel like cleaning them. I plan to install my 6AL soon and a blaster coil and I think my wires will just be another attribute to my ignition combo.

FMS wires suck....go with either taylor or live wires
btw...the last two sets of motorsport wires I bought shrank 2mm in about a year. Had nothing to do with heat. The extra wire I had in the house for the 94/95 coil did the exact same thing. Change your wires every year if you run FMS.

Another vote for Taylor's. I run the 409's. The smaller plug boot for header clearence and the fact that the boot is part of the wire and can not slide off is also a big plus.

I like the wires -- except for the #4 seems like it could be a little longer (maybe) and the #8 could be a little shorter (definitely). [They're actually the same length wire so swapping them is not an option - ] Do you find you have the same issues?

It CAN slide off, it is a seperate piece, but they are great wires.
The MSD wires with their 90 degree boot are lame, I've fried 2 or 3 sets of those.

I agree, 409's and MFY seperators will last for a long time.
