Do yourself a favor and just get a Speedcal. I know they are a bit more expensive than the gear but those gears tear up in a year and you be buying another one.
If you have 3.55's, get an FRPP white speedo gear, they are cheap and durable. Mine has lasted over 3 years, no problems. However, I don't know about the 3.73's.
