which supercharger?

Paxton Novi 2000 with the 8lb pulley will get you close to the 360-380hp mark depending on the mods. It's not as simple as throwing on a supercharger and getting back on the road. You will need to upgrade fuel pump, fuel injectors, mass air and definately need a tune! None of these items by the way is cheap, and you'll have to do them no matter what supercharger you buy. When upgrading the fuel system...just my $.02....buy the 03 cobra tank and pump set up...it will save you money and headache later. I tried to go with an aviator pump and it was not flowing as much fuel as what i needed. I have since ponyed up for the cobra set up.

Hey guy may I ask how much a forged internals cost and labor ? I am going to get vortech or novi 2000 and wanted to know if I wanted to go more then 400rwhp.

Thanks

Well i have not gotten any numbers for my forged block yet, but as soon as I do I will let you know, but that stock block will only hold about 425 max. I paid close to 7,000 for block heads and labor, and of course I'm installing it in the car here at home. FYI I am a 26 year old Female.

From what i've read it depends if you want top end or bottom end power. Kenne Bell type units are supposed to be good for low end power and procharger type units are supposed to be good for top end power. :D

The block isn't the problem when the fit hits the shan....it's the rods and pistons that take a dump. :)

Actually....with the Prochargers 4.10:1 gear step ratio, the P1SC's come on pretty hard and pretty fast down low as well.

:nono:
In my original post I meant that the block as a whole including the rods, pistons, ect.... being stock will not hold much more than 425HP. When ever you add modifications to a stock application it is likely to break at it's weakest point. On my car the weakest link happened to be the rod bearings. The Pistons and rods were fine.

I'm going to see how close to 600 I can get with a little v1 strim and stock heads.

I plan on these mods before next spring.

8rib pulley set up
7.5" overdrive crank pulley
p51 intake
new valve spings
then run it to 6600 rpm.

After that I'll upgrade the S trim to a T

Baby steps... I have a KB 1.7l IC. I'll be doing engine mods later to support more than my initial (stock) 9psi setup. KB comes with new injectors, 90mm MAF, BAP, fenderwell CAI and new fuel rails and chip plus more. I'll be doing more but I have a vert. Already I am looking at fast times at the track. Almost too much for my vert without a roll bar.

my friend is making 471rwhp with stock internals :o. he's current waiting for his forged stuff to come in then changing to turbo!

I heard that the p series leaks like a mother.

I'd say go with a t trim, d1, or the larger of the 2 current KB sizes.

I heard that the p series leaks like a mother.

And I heard Howard K. Stern was the father of Anna Nicole Smiths baby......but look how that turned out. :D You've got to be weary of the internet rumors that circulate. They’re almost always unfounded and seem to be circulated by the same people…..usually someone with something to gain like a competing supercharger company. If spread around enough, it would certainly give people the impression that there’s a real problem with the unit, but the bottom line is, is that if the P1SC(2) was the piece of junk these people would have you believe, wouldn’t you think ATI would have caught on and it would be out of production by now, instead of being the best selling blower in their line up? I've never personally seen a P1SC with a leaking issue myself and of the ones I have heard of, it turned out to be the result of overfilling the unit itself, rather than a defect or flaw in it’s design. I've also since learned that the Procharger unit uses a "wet" seal design which is supposed to experience a little "seepage" between oil changes. So seeing a little oil from time to time is normal.

....althogh that now come to think of it.....The P1SC probably isn't the best choice if 550-600rwhp is the goal. It's a little on the smallish side, even if it is rated for it.
