which throwout bearing?

I bought a used spec stage 3 clutch and it didnt include the throwout bearing. i assume the stocker is a bad idea right? where can i get just the throwout bearing

Any autoparts store has it. Don't get the China bearings. Get the Timkin brand bearings. Rent a puller while your at it.

get a steel bearing, and you wont need the puller unless you are also changing the pilot bearing, which you should check while you have it all apart.

I got mine with my ford racing clutch from summit and it chirps like crazy, but the one I got from checkers/kragen/schucks for my friends car works perfectly. I am going to change mine out when I get the chance. Does any one know what kind of clutch that summit sell the ford racing one that I bought. I was told it was the king cobra but it didnt say so on it so I doubt it.

I believe the King Cobra is your regular Motorcraft TOB. I have had 3 different kinds of TOB's and they all work flawlessly. I recently put in a Centerforce TOB (self-aligning) and it is working great but a bit on the pricey side for a throw out bearing.

Any throwout bearing should work IMO.
