Third gear is starting to grind every now and then so i know a tranny is going to be in order in the future. Recomendations? I want it to be good for 6-700rwhp. Should i switch to a 6spd?

You don't have to go 6 spd if you don't want to. Any TKO 5 speed from liberty will do just fine just tell them your expectations and they will do whats right. If you do go 6 spd theres a few more things you will have to do with the swap..... belhousing, trans mount, ect, ect. although having the extra gear may let you go with steeper gears, but thats more money too right?:nice:

It also depends on what the car does....If it is a street car that will see the 1320 every once in awhile, or if you want to go road course racing. If it is steet/strip then go with a traditional syncro trans, if you like the twisties then maybe look into a pro-shifted trans. either way GL:flag:

Wow, you havn't posted here in what seems like several months! I was beginning to think that you were now a foxbody guy and forgot about the SN95. Hope you have been well.

How often is it grinding? Like everytime you drive or what?

If you have the T45 like me, I would suggest that you swap up to a used TR3650 or a T56. I rebuilt my T45, and although it will handle more power than stock, I wish I had just update to the TR3650(couldn't afford the T56). Why you ask? The reason is to get away from the T45 quirks, they are upsetting me. After the rebuild, my third gear gave me trouble for the longest time, now it seems to be better(knock on wood), it was randomly 1/2 grinding when shifting around 2k, more like a crunch. But now it doesn't anymore

Yea it has been a while. I sold the fox so i can devote all my attention to my 99 for now on...Nice knowing people remember me!

It doesn't grind every-time just every now and then when im getting into good hp range and shifting into third. I think i'd rather leave it a 5spd at this point because thats what im used to i was just wondering if it was a common thing people did or if most people generally keep their 5spds.

My 3650 in my mach has handled about 30,000 + miles on 100 and 125 shots, all i had to do is replace the clutch to actually get the power to the wheels. may be a better "budget" way to go:shrug:
