I have been looking into purchasing a tuner, they do a lot, check engine light for o/r xpipe and changing speedo for the gears to come.

I am looking for some opinions from some of you that may have these tuners, or if you might know why one is better than the other........add your $.02.

The superchips seem to be sold around cheaper, so I'm leaning towards it a little more.

diablo sport is more versitle and you can use it with a custom burned diablo chip.
also the readout is bigger than a superchips.

personally i would get this http://www.andersonfordmotorsport.com/pms/pms-46.html

Unless you have an expensive air/fuel ratio monitor, the handheld tuners are a waste of money. After you've completed you're bolt-on mods, buy a chip and have your car professionally dyno tuned.

I am not sure of the web-site or what company that does this but I have heard of individuals who mail in their ECU brain and fill out a form of what mods you have and what future mods you want. The programmer burns the information into the brain and your car is tuned. Even for future mods, don't know if this is true yet but I am going to look into it. The prices range from 150 to 300, if anyone has info. or heard of this as a hoax please let me know.

You can get a dyno tune with the predator. Just dyno the car then tune it with the predator. It can do pretty much everything a redular chip can. Thats what Im planning on doing after I get my nitrous hooked up.

ok I got the web-sites URL where you can mail in the brain for your ECU and they do the programming for you.

www.pcms4less.com

I don't have much information about this yet but I have contacted the place by e-mail and if I see any dyno #'s or anything about the performance I will keep everyone posted.

I have tried both the Superchip microtuner and Diablo Predator on my car. The Diablo Predator is a much better product, period!

That is your opinion and you are entitled to it. But all I am saying is that the Predator is an outstanding product. So why would somebody be more happy with an SCT instead of a Predator? Please offer specific evidence. Thank you.

SCT gives you TOTAL control over the EEC. Simply put, it puts the power that is usually reserved for the dealers in the hands of the end user.

It is the software that is used by the best Mustang shops around the country.

I think you guys are comparing apples and oranges... The Pro Racer Package from SCT gives you absolute control over the operation of the PCM. They also provide you with a base tune and you make the adjustments. It's a great high-end product for those who want full control.

The Predator will allow you to change timing, a/f within preset limits and a few other parameters. My understanding is you have two settings - low RPM and high RPM. It is a great tool for making minor changes to your custom tune.

SCT PRP - $795.00 - full & complete control + base tune.
Predator - $395 (roughly) - minor adjustments to mail order tune.

Avenger - Sorry, I was referring more to some of the other posts in the thread. I think there is also a lot of misinformation out there about tuning. I'm not an expert and have just begun to work with the SCT package, but there are literally hundreds, if not thousands, of functions in the EEC-V.

It's great to have some control over gear changes, timing, air/fuel, etc. The challenge is that as your modifications become more complex (let's face it, we'll all run out of bolt-ons at some point) so does tuning the car.

Just my .02.

With the SCT programmer you can get three custom tunes from Big name shops in the industry. We just recently switched to the SCT software as our main source of tuning.I love the software..I can now send three tunes out to a customer and they have some control over thier car with the flasher...
I know SCT has a new version soon to be released that will give even more control(safely) to a mustang owner.
In other words,a SCT tuner can send 3 programs to you,you can then make minor adjustments on all three tunes if needed.

I've never used diablo,I do know I have managed to beat every single predator tune that has come in front of me on my dyno using the SCT software..
Software and your choice of tuner makes the difference on the end results you see as a consumer.

I would do alot of research on software/shop you choose to have tune your car..Your results will depend on how good the software they use is plus how good the individual tuning the software is.

SCT...
Other than the ability to tune multiple cars, is there any difference between the control of the User release vs the tuning shop release.

If I am going to spend $800 I want to make sure its worth it.

Thanks...
