Whine Noise When Cold?

For any of you guys that drive your cars up north in the winter. I started it up when going to work and was in a hurry. While pulling out I noticed a whine almost like a blower was under the hood but softer, it only happend from 2200 RPM+ and got increasingly louder as RPM's increased. Just wondering it didn't sound quite right to me....

Mine does it, almost sounds like the Cobra supercharger but a lot quieter.

Yeah, mine is doing that also. Only when it's like 20 something or less. It was in the 30s this morning and it did not do it.

Mine whines at about 850 RPMs. If I hit the gas, it stops. When it warms up and the rpms are about 700, it does not do it either....only when cold/

Also

It whines even if I don't have the fan on or A/C ...nothing, jst the engine.

Could it be a vacuum leak or something?
