Whining after gear install, how long?

Not sure i'll have better luck, I paid something like 300$ for the gears + ~ 500$ for install + new bearing, seals, fluids, etc.... So now the gears have cost me 800$ and it's not working properly. Thing is the guy doesnt know how to do it and he told me he knew... so if something fuxxed in the process i hope he's gonna pay for that

Make him tell you what rotational tourque he set the pinion to... there are some good articles out there and I remember something like 14-24 in-lb for new bearings...

went back to his shop on tuesday, he worked for 4 hrs on the car and made no advancement at all. I still have the whinning and something worse now, everytime i hit a small bump in the road, something (i think its the driveshaft or something) hits on the frame and makes an intense grinding noise...

im not sure i want gears anymore.. what an horror story.. i took a rendez-vous on monday at a tranmission specialized shop.. that thing has cost me 1200$ so far just for gears, nightmare.

You guys were right, it was a shimming issue, I want to a gear shop and they fixed it in 4 hrs only... Thank god it's fixed... now it's raining like a moda****ah i cant even try it

That sux! You should make the original installer pay for that crap. They screwed it up.
