Whisteling noise at idle

For the past few days my car started to make a faint whisteling noise by my trickflow intake manifold, which disappears as i drive. I took it to my mechanic and he said i needed to replace a vacum hose, and that the noise is coming from the collapsed line. What do you guys think? Also, the car drives like it always has.

Your mechanic sounds right. My friends 5.0 had a whistling sound at idle and we found out his block wasn't vented enough. Too much vacuum.
Put a new hose on, it's cheap enough.

could be the Throttle body?
What brand ya have? i had that problem using an aftermarket TB.

Most likely a vacuum leak, such as a cracked vacuum line.

Can also be that the intake gasket has developed a leak.

The vacuum lines are most likely the prob and easier to fix.

All of my TB's had a whitle at idle.

i have the tfs upper & lower with the 1 inch phenloic spacer, and after about two years the gaskets between the intake(s) and the spacer started leaking. sounded like i had a supercharger for a while.
