White Face Gauge Questions

I have a situation with my factory gauges where I am seeing green light showing through the tach and left side gauges. I was wondering if I were to put a white face gauge over this if it would fix the problem. Not really sure how thick those overlays are. Do you remove the black portion on the gauge or does the white face go over the black layer of gauge?

I am not too sure about the thickness of them but I have seeing one problem with them. They usually do not stay adhered and your gauges wind up sticking.

Had this problem with the white gauge overlays on my speedometer. I ended up having to use some 3M Spray Adhesive to get it to stick properly.

I think I may wait and just look for a different cluster. I would like a 140 MPH style anyway.
