the kit comes with a resistor becaue these are reverse glow. heres my problem:

1 the resistor has three wires from it-one with 4 female adaptors, one with a brightness switch, and one with a positive and negative wire. On the gauges, there is only one male connector...so which does the male adapter plug into and what do I do with the other three? Also, the instructions that came with it say to locate a solid ground and attach the black to it...what solid ground did you guys use? Then instructions then say to attach the red wire to the power source which is connected to the parking lights...again what wire goes to the parking lights?

thanks for any help you may have

you could always go to the library and ask if they have electrical diagrams for your year and have them print them out for you. if not, go to the ford dealer and ask for the same thing.

The wiring I am asking about is from the gauge kit...its aftermarket so I don't think the dealer would have that

I just installed mine the other day. I connected the positive lead to the blue wire w/white stripe. It's located right behinde the headlight knob. I can still control the light output of the gauges with the stock diming knob. I grouded it on a bolt located behide the dash.

For the hot, I used the infamous brown wire. For the ground, I could not find a decent bolt not mounted in plastic, so I soldered the ground wire to the metal frame bar that is right there.

just a follow up...these gauges slide right over the needles,no need to remove them-niice. I also wired into the brown wire going to the headlight knob with no problems and grounded the black wire to a bolt in the dash. Easy work, especially considering I didn't have to drive around with cruise control set to put the needles back on.
