My girlfriend got me some white face gauges for xmas and im about to install them on my 2000 GT. any install tips before i get started so it comes put looking and working awesome?

JUst remember, the thick brown wire on the headlight switch is the power wire

Only tip I can think of that would of helped me install mine was to use double-sided tape. When they're turned on for a while the guages get pretty warm and can have a tendancy to raise up a little bit. The needles will get hung up on them. I pulled the guages back out and put several pieces of the ultra thin 3M double sided tape under them. Needles never hang now! 
Also, the tape isn't so sticky that you couldn't remove the guages if you needed to.
All guages may not have the same problem though... Mine were from www.streetracerparts.com And other than that problem, they seem to be of the highest quality. Fit and finish is great.

if you have to take the needles off take your time and take lots of pictures of where the needles where before hand.
Thanks for all the help! I have the type that totally replace the existing gauges, so i do have to take the needles off. good thing i got a digital camera for xmas too so i can take lots of pics!

Another tip: Hold down the tripmeter button while starting the car and release it when the odometer reads "test" - you can push the button and cycle through the gauges. It will show RPM's for setting the needle correctly. Also if you drive around the block with the clear bezel off you can set it to "eng" and get your speed so you can replace the needle on the speedometer.

My problem was that I made the mistake of tring to splice into the 12v wire without removing the cable assembly from its connection first. The reason I tried to bypass this step was that disconnecting it was near impossible ... UNTIL I realized that you could easily get at it once you disconnect the bracket holding the headlight switch. Once I did that it was mostly a snap to get out the cable assembly to make the splicing.

Thats how I did it and my speedo and rpm guage are more accurate since I did it that way from the stock guages....
My speedo was off 2mph and after I did the guages and I got them to be a little less than 1mph off
