white powder on wheels

There is a milky white residue forming on the surface area of my cars rims. I am pondering what this could be. This **** is really messin with my playa skills HOMIE. can someone help me?

j/k anyone know what it could be. Its a white powder that just started to show up on my rims even when the car hasnt been driven.

Does it wipe off? is it a powder? Sounds like whatever wax you are using is breaking down. It could also be lime deposits...in wich case...some lime-away will rid you of that. It can be picked up at any grocery store

I never thought of oxidation....that was a good response - kind of hard to determine without a pic. I think you whould try polishing them with some mothers wax and see if the powder stops.

Palehorse, thanks for the plug! LOL

jerryS,

if you have aluminum wheels that are semi polished and then clearcoated....take that nasty clear off and polish those babies up. It will make a world of difference. Clearcoat on chrome, bare metal, or even polished metal actuall dulls and darkens it....unless you use ZOOP Seal
