Who can weld on some subframes?

lol, no. subframe connectors need to be welded in SOLID. there is no point in even having them unless they are married to the car. i would even venture to say that many available bolt on s/c's are not adequate for the serious racer. the tabs just aren't very big.

What muffler shop? Will they do other installs? $15 is right in my price range. Could you rivet or bolt them in?

where are you located? Theres a place in Tacoma that did mine for really cheap, and did a great job

eh, I just learned the concept of "cold weld" in physics. cold weld is the point in where static friction is so great that it'd take a great kinetic energy to break the multiple weak bonds loose. honestly, you'd have a more rigid connection if you magnetized the bugger together, at least that way it'd still be attempting to bond after it breaks. Actual welding, however, is a completely different game. do it proper! go to a shop that does subs. MM subs take a bit of bending, but fit the underside better, it all depends on how much of an "oh damn" factor you're going for. don't cinch on chassis/suspension parts, imagine teh difference of bending a valve midturn vs. breaking a weld midturn.

Carpet removal is not at all necessary unless you are doing "through floor" style connectors in which you are cutting big holes in the floorboards to install them. Regular short length and full length connectors weld to the rear torque box and front frame rails which are both 2-3 inches away from the actual floorboard.
