WHo has rebuilt a t-5, or had one done?

im getting pissed at my car, it wont stay in 2nd now unless i hold it, and it grinds going into 2nd, especially when cold. so i guess i gotta rebuild it. Can i just get the rebuild kit outta summit, etc and will that fix teh problem? i think its my blocker rings, syncros,etc what do you guy sthink

Blocker rings hold it in gear. If it were bad synchronizers it'd be grinding. You might as well replace all the synchros, rings, shims, races, and washers while you are in there. It should only be like 150 bucks if you do it yourself.

It's very easy to do if you have the right tools, a rebuild kit, and the Hanlon Motorsports VHS tape. That means basic hand tools, including snap ring pliers, and a hydraulic press (you can get a press for around $100 if you shop, try Harbor Freight).

I got the D&D rebuild kit and had someone local rebuild mine for $125. I took him the tranny, saves money. The local Mustang shop wanted $500 for him to do a bench job.

Might be a good time to upgrade to the G-Force rebuild kit. I think its around $900 though, kind of pricey but good for the long run
