I was wanting to see everybodys suspension/weight reduction, to see who has the lightest and best handling fox out there.

Well it's not my car (i wish it was) But it's commonly refferred to as "The Griggs Racing Coupe" and it's probably the sweetest looking car i've seen posted on this website.

I thought i had the guy's website but i can't find it...maybe someone will chime in with it. It's got a complete breakdown of everything installed on it. This car will corner right along side Ferraris

I could be wrong but it seems like i remember it having something like a 408 or something under there, or at least some kind of stroker. The site that i cant find has pictures of the underside, and it's amazing looking....tubular everything, you'd never think you were looking at a mustang undercarriage.

Maxium Motorsports claims to have some bad ass cars but not to sure if they are street legal. I'm sure any company that makes quality suspension kits have some nargly rides. Not sure if that's what you are looking for or average Joe's car.

Right now I have the worst handling Fox... Every part in the suspension is stock with 90k on it. I have a pile of parts to go in, just have not had the time. I am going for the H&R-MM plan, and since I am a suspension guy, I plan to have one bad asss road car!!

I will be keeping an eye on this post, too many straight cars around here when the fox can be one sweet road machine when done right!!!

THREAD FROM THE DEAD!
Not quite sure what answer you're looking for, but see my sig, mine handles like its on rails. I've tried to get it to break loose while cornering and it won't.
Nice to see that I'm not the only one on here that likes corners as well as the quarter mile.

ss93 - you'd get a kick out of this. There's a stretch of hwy. 129 near Knoxville in the mountains called "The Dragon". People come from all over the country to ride bikes and cars on it. You can get t-shirts that advertise it as "Ride the Dragon - 318 turns in 11 miles". They also sell t-shirts that say (for the bikers) "Ride Indiana - 11 turns in 318 miles".

For those of you out there contemplating creation of a really good handling Fox, don't forget the structure you're bolting all this too. The Fox body is extremely flexible - which is not a good thing from a handling perspective. Look at all the structural mods in ss93's sig - all those nice suspension pieces don't do much good if the unibody you bolt them too flex/twists/bends when you load it under cornering/braking/acceleration. He's clearly done a nice job stiffening up the platform. Follow his lead - and shore up the unibody too - there's plenty of stuff to weld underneath. A properly designed/connected roll cage works wonders to stiffen up the platform as well.

OOOOOH YEEEAA, that's right....isnt it that double throttle body intake or something? I remember something really different about the motor, i thought it was stroked or something...someone should find the website again.

Thanks dude, I appreciate the vote of confidence. I'm pretty happy with it myself- but I must digress, if I had to be honest, I think Iowa91LX may have me beat by a few parts. Check out his suspension: http://www.iowa91lx.stangnet.com/index.html

I doubt he could totally lose me in the cones, but he'd still come out quicker on the clock. I gotta get that MM K-member in there soon...

Holy crap! Porsche brakes? Howdy do that? Didn't see any front suspension in there, my vote still goes to Iowa.

Stangbear - uh, there's a matter of mass on yours to consider as well. No substitute for a lack of it.

I like to think I'm an average Joe on this site. Right now I sand floors for a living, eat hamburger helper at least once a week, and my stang is my daily driver (ok, my only car). Rain, snow, sun, it's out there taking me to work, and out to Chilis every Friday night for date night with the wife. Over $4000 in suspension, and over 230,000 miles on the clock. That what you were looking for, or something else? Here's the link right to my suspension:

She's a little fat, just under 3500lbs but I carry a lot of crap around with me, including at least 200lbs of stereo- but still 50.5% dia/crossweight. Rails.
