I got mine from autozone. About $8-10. Used em for years, they look fine for what they are. You can kinda make it out in this pic-

Just a matter of unscrewing the factory antenna from the base plate, installing the correct adapter in the kit to the new antenna and screwing the new one on. All in all about 5 minute job. I did lose some long range reception with the 8", but oh well that is what the mp3 discs and loud exhaust are for!!!!!!!!!

Just ordered the cell look-a-like from Autozone. Really impressed with the free shipping to me at my APO address. Will always supports a company that supports us!

hell, my friend's 1970 chevy Nova has an antenna built into the front windshield from the factory.... this isn't amazing new technology. I can't figure out why nobody offers a kit to retrofit a thin wire antenna onto windshields today...

I guess I'll just have to opt for the shorty antenna. But like you all said, with a 6 disc mp3 player, Sirius, and an inline port for an ipod, I'm not too worried about the FM radio. I may just remove the antenna.

I've got a billett one that I got from American Muscle, formerly Mustang Tuning. I can't really tell if I actually lost any reception or not (all the stations around here are kind of spotty anyway).

Antenna noise

So, I want a shorter antenna because I find the factory Antenna produces a lot of wind resistance noise. does the shorty antenna cut down on it?

I don't hear any wind noise now with the shorty nor do I recall hearing any with the factory antenna. Other than the looks(which was what I was goin for), I lost alot of longer range reception with the one from AmericanMuscle.com. I listen to cds most of he time so it's no big loss for me.

I have one I got off Ebay. Can't remember how long, but it's just tall enough that it's about in line with the roof. Most people don't even notice it, just how I like it.
