I'm going to finish off my current car but my next car? Hmm ... It'll probably be a SUV. I'm thinking Jeep SRT8.

just bought this one, but if i get anything else, i have a feeling it'll be a diesel truck.

keep this for a while though, save up until my warranty is done and then when that is done the car should still be low enough mileage, and enough saved up, for a nice supercharger.

No thanks. I considered a new challenger but dodge made me walk off the showroom floor laughing at them when they wanted to charge me a 10,000 dollar mark up on the R/T... IMO with their current track record beggars can't be choosers when it comes to buyers...

Next car BESIDES the Mustang which will need to be finished first is going to be something fun but a little more practical like a Pontiac G8 GXP. That is unless the 2010 Mustang will have a bigger motor and an IRS in that case I may have to reconsider that purchase. But I gotta admit the Challenger RT's with the 5.7L and the 6 speed pistolgrip sound badass too especially in Black.

Same car I'm thinking about getting to compliment the Mustang after it's fully paid off. Gotta love a Corvette motor putting out 415 hp with a 6 speed in a RWD sedan

If I don't get the GXP it'll probably be an Evo X (AWD would be handy in upstate NY) or maybe something more economical like a Mini Cooper S.

Camaro would only be a consideration if I end up moving somewhere less snowy in the winter.

I'm not even thinking new car at all. If I were..it certainly wouldn't be the ugly new Chevy Camaro I'll wait until I see some up close and personal and/or with body mods, but in pics it is not a good looking car overall. However, it will be nice to get it back on the road for rivalry purposes

Me neither. I haven't thought of any other car to purchase. The bluecar will be around for a long time. Given my history of having had 4 Mustangs including this one.....

The Camaro will be marked up too. Plus it looks rather thuggish with the high belt line. Also, something tells me the bulk of them will be 6 bangers. I've given no thought to the Mopars.

I thought about it...that's about as far as it got!

I had a Cadillac CTS and wanted a 2-door replacement with a V8 now that my kids are in forward facing boosters. (I've been driving sedans for the past 7 years after trading my '95 Mustang Cobra in on a 300M...then a Cad CTS...then another Cad CTS).

Honestly, I'm sick of the dealer BS everytime a "new model" comes out. Also, I had some negative experiences w/ my last CTS and didn't want to re-live any of that (I think the V6 Camaro shares the same drivetrain).

Unlike others, I think the new Camaro looks great (as does the Challenger).

The problem I have with both the Camaro and the Challenger is that the sticker price goes exponential (as for the dealer markup too, I'm sure) when you get into the V8 model. Maybe in a couple of years when the new car mania wears off I'd consider getting one but for now I'm pretty happy with the new (08) GT I just bought.

Worst case scenario, my Mustang will get me by a couple of years until I have the urge to get something new again...best case scenario I'll keep it for a LONG LONG time!

This Mustang is the third I've owned (65 Fastback, 90GT, 95 Cobra) and FWIW, I wouldn't have been in a hurry to get rid of the Cobra (even though I'd owned it for five years) if it wasn't for my first kid being on the way. My wife sold her 95 V6 Convertible Mustang around the same time so it was a double Mustang loss for the family.

So, I considered the new Camaro (and even waiting for the 2010 Mustang) but the current deals on the 08 Ford models won out for now!

I picked up an 04 Gt last Jan for 13200... 34K on the clock, one owner, clean car fax and the car is very clean, no winters until I took it through one.

I'm not sure I would buy another new Ford. I bought a new one 11 years ago and lost on it as this other guy lost on the Mustang and seeing that I don't keep a car forever, I'm probably better off buying used.

The new Camaros and Challengers may be the latest fad, but I always prefer to let time prove that any vehicle is a quality unit and not just another every little boy has to have one syndrome.

Would love to add a new Camaro SS to the stable after I get my '07 GT paid off in 2010. However... the economy has me spooked. Hopefully things will look better by then.

If I ever buy another new car it will be another mustang. Everything else I will buy used. Picking up a Ranger in the next week or two so I can retire the mustang as a daily driver. I honestly drove 20+ new cars before I picked up the mustang and traded in a almost 400AWHP WRX. I haven't been dissapointed since.

Once the stang is paid for I am considering another truck. Which is more practical considering I already hauled garbage to the dump for almost three years in my trunk. Thank goodness we got another truck recently to relieve my garbage hauling fetish. yuk yuk!!!

A lot of it will depend on what happens with the 2010 Mustangs and if/when I decide to purchase a condo. If I buy a condo before I'm ready for a new car (which will probably be in the next couple years), I'll potentially stick with my car, or I'll just get a new 2010/11. Otherwise, if they come out with a Boss special edition of the new Mustang, then I'm buying that. My number 2, 3, and 4 choices are Corvette, C63 AMG, then new CTS-V assuming it is close to in line with the C63 price-wise.

As long as the competition is tipping the scales at 4,000 lbs, I'm not interested.

The new challenger needs the srt8 package to be quick and that's around $40,000 MSRP. I haven't seen numbers for a 5.7 challenger but it will probably be a slug.

The new maro has grown on me but again, too heavy. Has anybody seen any numbers yet? I can't imagine this pig being any faster than the last generation LS1 f bodies. Unless of course that 415 hp rating is understated like the 320 hp rating for the LS1.

I will more than likely be sticking with the small and nimble mustang(in comparison) for a long time to come.

I think my next play car in a couple of years would be a used 2006 and up Z06...
