Indeed indeed -- as a previous subaru owner -- read my above posts.. yeah they can be quick.. anything can.. it all depends on budget, time and effort... but I'll definitely say.. I feel more comfortable in any of my foxbodys.. even the stripped ones. Than I ever did in either the wrx wagon or the STi.

I'm not enormous.. but I'm no munchkin -- 6'3-6'5 depending if I'm wearing my boots or not and 240lbs.. and yeah. My knees hit the subaru's dash and steering wheel all the time and it pissed me off to no end. The stang.. hell my pops can fit in it and he is 7'1" and 300+.

All in all.. I also feel safer.. I got rearended in my wagon and the thing crumpled like a tin can.. yeah crumple zone this and that. I've been rearended and Ive rolled a Fox (or two ) and I havent even had so much as whiplash. Ah well.. Anyway -- It has been good talking to you 873Stang... Hopefully the info I have given you via instant messaging has been helpful.

Regards,
Gered

Idea

Couldn't you put a mustang body on a bronco frame and lower it put it in 4 wheel drive, then you will have awd

They are capable of 1.8 60 fts with their AWD (stock), and run at 100 mph at low-mid 13's if I recall.

The STI is faster than a WRX.

A good heads/cam/intake, supporting mods like MAF, TB, full exhaust and you could out trap the guy by 7-10 mph (pull him on the highway strong), and with some drag radials and some control arms, you could pull 60 ft's as good or better than he can.
