CHP has good things. I've heard more negative things about D.S.S., but that is only what I've heard, I have no ties to them.

Rick also does some pretty good work.

I too have heard nothing but good comments about CHP and the opposite about DSS. I'm sure in the world of mass produced pistons and such, one can crack from time to time...all performance pistons have suffered that fate on time or another, I'm sure of it!

any co. can just about make a good kit but the tune has to be right or you will blow the "best" kit up. I have a DSS pro bullet and it pulls hard!!!!!!!!!

I don't think anyone doubts DSS's "ability" to make a good motor. It's their recent quality control issues that are in question. I live just down the street from DSS yet my motor is being built by RNH Performance all the way out in Central Pennsylvania. Hmmmmmmm.

I just saw in the "Speed Lust" from 5.0 mag. that CHP now offers a package with a DART block. S&B doesn't seem to like CHP, but he likes Baywatch men...

For me, I am going to go to Rick, the same person Daggar mentioned for my 331 set up for a T60 turbo after I find a good reason to get a new motor.

Wow, thanks for all the support guys it is greatly appreciated

Now as far as best kit, that is really open ended question. Do you want a street car or a race assembly?

For a Street/Strip car most name brand 4340 cranks, 4340 H-beam rods, good forged 2618 alloy pistons will hold 800hp+.

If you want more then that, Billet crank, billet or alum rods, custom pistons.

Depends what your intentions are, how much power you want to make, and how you make it. Then it also depends on your budget....

AD Performance

Contact Brian Adams at AD Performance http://www.adperformance.com/ . He has ready made kits or can customize it suit you needs. Very fair prices too. He helped me out with my 598 big block which by the made made 995hp and 820tq on the dyno with no power adders.

Ive come to learn that just about any "kit" will do. BUt I will only have a guy by me (Rich Groh) build my engines. LIke rick he's built so many that he knows what he is doing, what will produce what power, and knows the ins and outs of every reliable combo.

You can not put a price on experiance, i would never just buy a kit and slap it in. Talk to someone who has built many and trust them, if you dont trust them find someone else.

If i didnt live right next to rich, i would have had rick build my engine in a second, like i said you can not put a price on experiance and rick has that experiance, and can be trusted.

Keep on building

Daggar isn't DSS in saint Charles, IL ??
