WHO MAKES THE BEST "SPEED CAL"?

I am going to buy a "speed cal" for my 94 GT with an AODE, which one would you recommend and how hard are they to install?

only one i know of for our cars that seems to be popular is the dallas mustang one

I got mine from Dallas Mustang - hoping to put it in tomorrow.

It may require drilling a small hole in the car to route the wiring on the AODE's.

I'll post some pics when I do the install.

Yes, the install is really easy.
The Dallas Mustang Speedcal comes with detailed instructions.
I installed my Dallas Mustang Speedcal on my 96 Ford Mustang GT
in 30mins.

Brother's Mustang also carries the speedcal for a bit cheaper...

I did the install this morning - it was very straight forward - the hardest part was figuring out how to unclip the wires out of the VSS harness. Took about 30 minutes total.

AODE GUYS: I ended up unbolting the front two shifter bolts and that gave me enough room to rock the shifter back and sneak the SpeedCal harness through to the transmission.

It's the same one - I got mine from Brother's. It even says "Dallas Mustang SpeedCal" on it.

pardon my ignorance, but is this a substitute for replacing the speedo gear? or is that just w/ the manual trannies?

"The unit fits 94-04 manual transmission cars and 94-98 automatic transmission cars. " and yes it is the subsititue for the speedo gear. For instance for 3.73s they dont offer the correct speedo gear, but they make one that gets you close, but it still should be off and i think eventually it gets chewed up and needs replacing since the teeth do seat well on the gear. I just am curious if one has a speedcal can they still run a tweecer later in the future . I know they both plug into the ECU and am not sure if its in the same place

Yes, Paul it is to correct your speedometer gear after you change your
ring and pinion in your rearend.The Dallas Mustang Speedcal can be used on
a 94-98 with automatic transmissions and 94-04 with manual transmissions.
I have had a DM speedcal for about five years now and it works perfect.

The SpeedCal plugs inline to the VSS (Vehicle Speed Sensor) on the transmission harness. You don't even have to cut any wires.

It works great with the twEECer. If you've got an auto, some of the tables you mess with in the ECU are MPH based (the main reason I got it) so having an accurate speedo really helps.
