Who Makes The Best Suspension Packages

I was wondering who makes the best suspension package for a 1969 or 1970 Mustang Fastback. I am trying to get some information to see how much a project to would cost. Maximum Motorsports does not make any and the only company I have found that does is GriggsRacing and they are WAY Expensive so I am unsure if it is worth the money. I am wanting that I can use to drive around town on occasion but something I can take to the road track. I was really hoping for a way to put independent rear suspension on one. does anyone have some suggestions?

There is no "best". Driving style, budget, etc., are all factors. The type of driving you plan does not warrant an IRS. That would be an extreme expense for little benefit in your case. There are at least half-a-dozen IRS setups for the Mustang, all will cost you thousands of dollars.

Hi,
Having road raced in another life, if you are serious about any road course fun, I would advise you to join a a road racing forum, such as, SCCA, NASA (National Auto Sports Association). Also, AllFordMustangs has a road racing and autocross forum. You'll learn what works based on your intended level of participation. Obviously, there will be some compromises, if you intend to drive the streets, as well.

well could you just give me some names of companys that make packages including those that do IRS. Like I said I would like to get an idea of cost to figure out what I would like to do. I really would Like IRS, I have an idea of what I want to do it and includes IRS with an aluminum block engine with a six speed tranny.

OK, two come to mind. None cheap. If cheap is your mantra, don't bother.
RRS, RSS and TCP. Google these.

awesome thanks. Do you know if anyone makes a kit to use a cobras IRS? Cheap isnt really a concer this is my dream car I am wanting to make one that I will have forever.

in case it wasn't mentioned in the IRS thread DVS restorations makes a conversion kit for installing the "late model" cobra IRS.

also for front suspensions check out thesethey can also help with non-irs rear suspensions as well

unless the track you go to is really bumpy, an IRS is unnecessary. smooth asphalt works fine with a live axle....
On the street, it might be more usefull....
