May I ask why you want to get a aftermarket one? Generally stock is the way to go.

MSD does get a lot of bad reviews but mine is still holding up. I held onto the stock cap just in case since it was only worn. I'd give it a shot for forty dollars.
not sure why everyone hates on MSD do much... we run MSD EVERYTHING in the race cart and its given us ZERO issues.
just switched the digital 7 out for the power grid 7.
and i have a 6AL2 in my car and its never given me any issues

I took a junk yard Distributor apart and put the housing on a wire wheel.... It cleaned up nice nice. I tossed it back together with a little Lube on the shaft and it was good to go.

Have a MSD Pro Billet in mine, other than the MSD TFI going T.U. in less than a month I have had no problem with mine. I'm now using a stock Motorcraft TFI with it. Speaking of which, I ordered a TFI Relocation Kit from McCully Racing and wouldn't you know it the fricken US Postal Service delivered it to the wrong address so I am now out the kit and 65 bucks!!
