Who Sells Oem Sensors...

Looking for a motorcraft ACT and ECT sensors. Who sells NOS motorcraft sensors for our engine? I have a feeling my aftermarket ACT is giving me issues with my rich high idle condition. I dont feel like trying another aftermarket one.....Thanks guys!

I got my Motorcraft replacement sensors from RockAuto.com

I was told by a Mechanic one time, that if I buy replacement sensors for my Mustang try to get Motorcraft ones if possible because they work the best.

Just checked RockAuto, they do have Motorcraft ECT sensors but I did not see a Motorcraft ACT sensor available this time.

Thanks I'll give the ECT sensor a try. Once I get to work I'll do some more searching for a ACT. If I find one Ill report back.

ACT sensors for Fox's have been obsolete for years now. Guess I'll try another aftermarket one.....

There's another site that sells OEM stuff like that. I have it saved in my favorites on my computer at work. I'll post the site tomorrow when I go to work.

http://www.fordparts.com/ - They seem to have everything. At dealer prices.

If you can find the part numbers that look like these then you can google it. A lot of different places sell the parts. These are for a 93 5.0.

CM-4721 These are the Cobra 24# fuel injectors.
DY-530 Barometric pressure sensor.
DY-674 Air charge temperature sensor
CX-899 Air diverter valve
YB-295 Cooling fan clutch
DY-303 Engine coolant temperature sensor
SW-2328 Coolant temperature sender (for dash gauge)

If you can find the xx-xxxx part number. This seems to be the one most commonly used by motorcraft. If you search for your part number it should come back on a few websites, then you can compare prices.

For the ECT sensor it looks like DY-303 has been replaced with DY-1145. DY-1145 is the one where you have to replace the wiring connector. DY-303 uses the stock connector. Hard to find DY-303 as well.

The way Ford did the part numbers is strange. Some parts carry the xx-xxxx style and then some the xxxx-xxxxx-xx. Like the cooling fan clutch carries yb-295 and e5zz-8a616-b, but the cooling fan blade only has f3zz-8600-a.

The only place I could find the ACT sensor was on www.fordparts.com and its $48.00. Iffy whether they can still get it or not. I still need one though so if they only have one left, don't buy it.

I just ordered one from fordparts. Delivery on yearone said 1 to 4 weeks. Once I registered on fordparts the price came down to $44. With shipping yearone was $55, and fordparts was $57. I'll let you know if it works though. It said availability on fordparts was "0".

These are thermistor style sensors - I work with these type of sensors constantly from a huge array of different manufacturers and their shouldn't be any difference beyond ~1% between them. Very simple, it's basically just a resistor where the resistance varies with changes in temperature. When they degrade they will tend to read a touch high, like add a couple degrees after 15 years. If it's downright failed you will get the code. Not much "in-between".

I agree. However, I would like to compare the difference between the motorcraft and aftermarket. If\when I get the motorcraft one.

I can say from experience. I got a aftermarket temperature sender, for the gauge cluster. The temperature reading now sits higher than a motorcraft one.

I'm not saying they're all bad, but the quality seems better than with a lot of aftermarket.

Go buy a aftermarket timing cover seal, and the same seal from motorcraft. Hold them side by side and compare them. Motorcraft stuff, as far as the seal, is up there with SKF and maybe made by them? Felpro isn't that bad, but I ordered a generic timing cover kit and the seal was horrible.

Not to flame Latemodelresto because I order a ton of stuff from them, but order a EGR gasket then find a motorcraft one. BBK brand is paper, Motorcraft is graphite with a steel core.

Just my experience.
