Anyone here use Firefox instead of internet explorer to go online?? I've been having some problems with IE going extremely slow and hanging up sometimes. It's been like that since it was updated to the newest version. I've reinstalled it thinking it was a screwup but it didn't do anything.

When it happens, I have to close IE and then reopen it and go back to the site I was on and it will be normal.

I downloaded firefox but am unfamiliar with it. So far it's been awesome. Never gets slow or hangs up.

Is there anything that I should be worried about with firefox? as in security issues with passwords or online banking??

Thanks
Vic

I've got 5 pc's and firefox is on every one but my company issued computer. It's a pretty good browser. I work as a communications tech for a large national company and see a lot of pc's, 98% of the people I have dealt with love Firefox.

i use firefox. all my computers at school (university of calgary) have both programs, and all classes i take that need computers are taught with firefox as the preference also. with 35,000 students sharing the same computers, i'm guessing its better with protection than IE is. my brother is a computer nerd also, and he told me firefox is way better.

Thanks for the replies. I've been using it for a few hours tonight and have been really happy with it. I haven't had to restart the browser once.:nice:

Wish I would have changed over a long time ago.

With IE, Myspace was extremely slow. I always had to restart IE and wait minutes for the page to load if it loaded at all. I spent almost 2 hours on myspace to test out firefox and never had a problem.

The only thing I notice with firefox. Is as I type, it puts a red underline under some words. Kinda like a spell check or something? Is this a normal thing for firefox??
