I have a PA Performance 200 amp alt. and a 6AL ignition and at night when I turn my headlights on, my dash lights, gauge lights, and my clock dim in and out continuously. What do you think the problem is? Is it timing maybe????

Start with the basics. Since you swapped your alt, check the connections there. Make sure the connectors are not corroded or anything. Scrape to bare metal if you see any.
Next clean the connections at your battery. get a battery terminal cleaner and grind the posts till they are shiny. Then clean the terminals where the wrap around the batter post. Remove the wires that connect to the terminals, get them nice and shiny copper, then reinstall them. Do the same for the ground wires that go from the battery to the body.
Then look at the ground wire that attaches to the block. remove and clean that.
It's a start, and might solve your problem.
when you are done, you might want to have autozone check out your battery/alternator just in case.

you can also do some voltage drop tests (or amp drops tests) to see if a circuit is dropping voltage. the first one to do this on is the alternator vs the battery (i dont like to see more than 100 mA drop, but up to 500mA is acceptable to some).
did everything work decently for a time after the install? if not, i would go back over the install. on a fox (which is very different, i think) guys forget to take care of the voltage regulation wires (which happen to also go to the stock gauge, so you cant mess with that wiring back there too much either). but anyway, the alt wont regulate.
i should ask - you do have a self exciting alt, right?
