WHY!? Are people so rude!!

I am driving my car throught the delevopment between 25-30mph because there are little kids around here. My car is loud without the cats so what. So some stupid lady comes out of her house screaming SSLOOWWW DOOWWNN!!!!!!!!!!

Now I make it an effort to drive exactly between 25-30 having kids myself and no discredit to those of you who are (or aren't) but I am no 17 year old irresponsible kid. My car is a third car and has a freaking car seat in the back. I do not speed throught the neighborhood. So I stop and me and my friend get outta the car and tell her off. I say "Lady, I am a parent myself and I know my car is loud but I was doing 25-30 and have a whitness to prove it so save the screaming for someone else." She says JUST SLOW DOWN! I told her I was doing 25. She says "No you weren't." So I say "oh, get a life!" We get back in the car and leave. Anyone else get pigeon holed like this just b/c your car is loud??

YES!! I'm 21 and I have a full exhaust with off road pro chamber and flowpaths. I'll drive in 3rd gear at 20mph and have crazy ladies telling me to slow down. I was driving out one morning doing like 25 and this lady that was kinda walking/jogging all of a sudden turns around and steps in front of my car and kept shaking her finger. I almost have had it up to this point and got a little ignorant with her. BTW, I live in a neighborhood where the people act like ritzy ****s. So anyway to make a long story short... when I get home from work, the cops show up to my house saying that they've had about 6 reports from neighbors that I was speeding through the neighborhood recklessly. LOL this lady got so mad at what I said to her that she got all her neighborhood friends to complain. The cop was cool about it though, and I explained to him my problem and how I never even had any kind of traffic or speeding ticket in 5 years. He was just like try to make peace with the neighbors. So now I try to take the back way in and drive like 15mph. I still get people looking at me dirty all the time, i mean ALL the time. So what I did was I made this big carboard sign that says "I AM DRIVING 25MPH, THANK YOU!!!" and everytime a neighbor stops in there tracks to look at me dirty I take it out and hold it out the window so they can see. LOL They feel like asses but whatever it takes right?

But on a whole other subject, this is what gets me. You know those little motorized scooters and bikes or whatever that kids usually fly around on all the time. They're actually illegal in my state to be operated by a kid under 16 and even so they aren't even allowed on the road. Well the kids around here fly around the corners and down the road and they must me going like 40mph. Well, i saw one kid go around the corner one day flying, and this truck almost took him out. But these are the same peoples kids almost causing accidents... but then they call the police on me. WTF people are messed up.

I got that in my old Toyota truck once the exhust was broke before the cat and was loud as hell. I drive down this short ass road and this lady yelled at me. Like my little 4 cyl could really get up that fast on that short of road

I can't feel that exact way, YET..... but I only have an aftermarket catted H and flow 40's. I've had a few complaints, but not that extreme. Mostly just the hateful looks. I can't wait to get my O/R pipe (whatever it is) so I can annoy them even more. I don't want to start trouble up, but those that think I'm going too fast because I sound fast, need to do something more productive with their time.....

With that said, I will approach a future situation like yours in a tactful way. If they continue to be @$$es about it, I won't care a bit. Let them stress.

Hey it's nice to know there are some other responsible stang owners out there dealing with the same $hit. And yes to those of you that would have gone "Hulk" on them, I did everything to hold back. A few of my hillbilly friends said they would have done a &*$#ing burnout in front of the wench.

I can tell you when I am driving my stang at 25-30 I get dirty looks from soccermoms, then I can get in my new BMW and they are all smiling and waving EVEN though I am driving FASTER! WTH is up with that!? They don't even recognize it is the same guy!

LOL this thread is funny....i have the exact same problem....when i got my car it was stock, and it was quiet. I drove the exact same speed as i do now with my h-pipe with flows.....so everybody gives me bad looks, and this one lady says SLOW DOWN...This isnt a dragway...lol i thought that was funny, so i proceded to inform her that it isnt a 1/4 mile long, then do a nice burnout in front of her house.....she hasent said anything since, but she did call the cops. Deny everything.

Well close to my scenario. I'm 22 and my sub-division has fairly large house and its in the country so everyones house is a good ways back from the road. After a tune-up including new coil about two years ago when I was 20. I took the car down the street and back just keeping it at like 2grand in 3rd gear about 30mph just to see if the car missed or sputtered any. Well a dude from down the street that is in the reserves I only knew cause he was in uniform got in his car and came alll the way back down the street to my house and up my long driveway. He got out of his car screaming and shouting about how I needed to slow down. I was like dude get real I know my car is loud and its the middle of the day so I'm not bothering anyone. He insisted on telling my parents. I was like really you don't get it. I wasn't going fast was just crusing to make sure the car was ok after working on it. He said my car was so loud it shook his wondows. I'm like O/R X and 40 series flows at that time. I told him that i'm sorry if i disturbed him but if he was in his house what make you think I was speeding. He said simply cause the car was so loud. A few weeks later I decided to make it worse installed my pro-chamber and left my borlas off and rode down the street with just the stock headers and the prochamber. I'm sure he herd me that time that sound was unmistakenably loud and clear.

i had to move out of the townhouses we used to live in because the neighbors complained on the audible tone of my car....... so every time i even cranked it i got the cops called on me, even they were starting to get annoyed, they made me crank it once, and checked out the exhaust etc. to see if it was legal...... wasn't but they couldn't tell, no cats..............................

Eventually we got tired of the hassle and moved......now we have the house so screw 'em all............ they still rent and i own..................... so they can F&(# ()FF

I have an O/R H, so mine is decently loud. I was leaving this Italian Festival they have downtown every year (big public drunk fest lol), in gridlock traffic. Moving a max of 5mph in traffic, I see a cop off to the side of the road. So naturally I am expecting to get sh** from him, that's just how they are around my hometown. I drive by and he comes running up, "slow it down! The speed limit is 15mph here!" to which I replied "I'll let you know when I make it up to 15" he just gave me a bad look and walked away. I wanted to throw the car in reverse, run him over and rid the world of another jackass.
