Why does a clutch burn

I was just wondering why a clutch burns and how. I was also wondering how long many burns a stage 2 clutch could last

lol, well if you treat the clutch right it will last longer (duh) but by reving to high and "Dumping" it to take off to fast and have the wheels spin or burnout will cause friction and heat to burn it up! Also riding on it will burn it up also.

Clutches burn because your stupid enough to let your g/f drive your car after she asks for the 50th time

lol!!! Easy on the clutch and it'll last you a long time~ if your hard on it, it'll take a beating but sooner or later it'll go. easy as that...
