why does my car loose power when hot? ALOT

when my car gets hot, running for about 1/2 hour, she really really loses power. not just abit, alot. Plus when its cold out it runs sick, then when it gets hot it just losses it hard. not ur normal power loss i think. what could this be? no ce lights, only thing i can think of is the air intake temp sensor, cause it did get soaked with water a while back, that is the only thing that i can think of that would affect temp..right?

really are you serious? meaning what? how can i stop it? will a tweecer be able stop this? also i was thinking it was possibly related to egr somehow.

Upgrade your cooling system try a 180* stat, and the fan mod.

Yes. The computer code is written to dump fuel and pull timing when it gets over 207*s. You can change this with a tweecer. I ran the tweecer for a summer and a couple of changes made a huge difference in how the car felt once it got heat soaked, plus I had the fans turning on earlier.

i think its the extra heat coming from the fire from your tailpipes.

I could be wrong, but I got that info from messing with my car with a Tweecer. I've since parked the car and sold the tweecer, so I can't go double check.

You can get a Mr. Gasket high flow thermostat too, which helps a lot. You can get them from Advance Auto or Summit for $8.88.
