Why is my fuel pump so loud!?!?

My fuel pump is really loud. I can almost always hear it, unless I blast the stereo. I have a 94 GT hardtop, and my dad has a 94 GT Conv. and they both are very loud. Also I noticed when I hit the brakes it gets a little quieter.

My question is are all of the fuel pumps loud or does mine need to be replaced?

Sometimes they get louder with age. I replaced mine with a walbro 190 and it is dead silent almost. My T-Rex has become louder over the years though.

I dont have mufflers so I cant hear much of anything outside the car.

mine i hear a lil buzz after i put in a walbro 255... :/ not worried bout it, i only hear it that much when the rear seats are folded down and its idling.... oh, and if ur interested it will drop voltage when ur turnsignals on
