Why hasn't a sticky been made on swapping a 99+ engine into a 96-99 GT? I'm sure someone has done this or more than myself has thought about it! I wanna take the modular plunge but would rather use the 99 engine my brother got me with 35K miles than the stock engine in a 96 for sale locally.
Dunno why its not a sticky. But pull the driveshaft out, take the trans mount off, take the nuts off the motor mounts, take the radiator out, misc wires and stuff, and pull that thing out. You'll need to put your coilpacks on the 99 motor and your oil pressure sensor which is near the oil filter. And your fuel rails. And you're done, put it back in the car
If putting longtubes on I recommend attaching the trans to the engine OUTSIDE of the car and bolting the headers up. Put it in the car as one assembly. Its a tight fit but works. If you're leaving the stock manifolds on, put the trans on when the engine is already in the car.
Stickys are usually posted for something that is important to almost all 4.6L crowd.
If we made everything "sticky" that everyone suggested, the whole page would contain annoying stickys.
